In this creepy-crawly entry into the "Maneater Series," a venomous spider that's worshipped as a god by the local tribes bites a backpacker making her way through the jungles of India. On the last night of an extended tour through India, six hikers go to sleep thinking that tomorrow they will return to the comforts of their own homes. Their pleasant dreams soon turn to nightmares, however, when a highly poisonous Bolivian Baja spider bites seasoned traveler Geraldine (Jane Perry). Now, Geraldine's only hope for survival is to place her trust in the enigmatic Dr. Lecorpus (Lance Henriksen) - an American ex-patriot once accused of being a globe trotting organ thief. Now, in a village where arachnids are thought to be supernatural deities, the survivors of this terrifying excursion struggle to break free from both the creatures who would drink their blood for breakfast, and the human who would sell their organs for profit. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Terry Winsor directs this two-fisted tale of drug, guns, and murder based on a real-life gangland killing that left three dead in the snowy Essex backcountry. The film opens with cabby neophyte Billy (Charlie Creed-Miles) getting hired by suave drug baron John Dyke (Tom Wilkinson) to shuttle around recent ex-con Jason Locke (Sean Bean). Locke is a disaster waiting to happen; half-psychotic with a volcanic temper, he kills and disfigures without a second thought. Yet he takes a shine to his young driver and soon starts including him on his nefarious errands. Meanwhile, Locke arranges for his wife Lisa (Alex Kingston of ER fame) to call in a favor from Dyke and has the kingpin procure a shipment of ecstasy. Unfortunately, the E proves to be bad, hospitalizing scores of ravers and almost killing Locke. With his street rep trashed, the sociopath vows bloody revenge on his former partner, while Dyke and his lover Lisa plot Locke's demise. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

Sharply defined characters and thrilling action sequences were the distinguishing features of the British cop series Thief Takers. The title referred to the well-trained members of a London Armed Robbery Squad unit, who specialized in hunting down their quarry in helicopters and small planes. Bank robbers, jewel thieves, and kidnappers barely stood a chance when the heroes (and heroines) were on the job. Debuting over Britain's ITV in 1995, the weekly 60-minute Thief Takers remained on the air (and in the air) until 1997. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

An ambitious father thinks nothing of using his own son to achieve his political goals in this adolescent comedy. The lonely boy has spent the last seven years tucked away and ignored by his parents, Senator Tom Morgan and his social-climbing wife Nancy, in a distant boarding school. As the story begins, he receives the depressing news that once again they will be too busy to have him home for the holidays. But then, out of the blue, they change their minds and invite him home to stay there for good. The boy is elated, but soon after his arrival, he learns the bitter truth: his father only brought him back because it is an election year and his campaign manager thought he might do better if the public saw him as more of a family man. The boy then decides that it is high time some changes were made around the house and mayhem ensues. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

In this enhanced graduation film by Terry Winsor, the adventures of caricatured teens as they search for sex and romance, saturated with rock music, go on for a long time and in a format that is not always intelligible to the non-teen. It becomes apparent early on that this search is not usually successful, and since there is no other point to the story, the comic moments alone will not be enough to keep viewers entertained. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

- Daniel Peacock, Karl Howman, (more)
