This tense, tragic drama underscores the horrors of racism in America: not only that perpetuated by whites, but also by blacks. In this story, based on LeRoi Jones' play Slaves, director Al Freeman Jr. plays a black revolutionary leader who has come back to exact his revenge on his ex-wife for having married a white liberal, and on his daughters for having stayed with her. The action occurs in the living room of his wife's house. All the characters involved remain stubbornly attached to their views, especially Freeman's character. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide
Roommates arrived at the tail end of the 1960s Youth Trip. A group of teens are so disgusted with the adult establishment that they decide to shack up together. For the next 97 minutes, the kids expound at wheezy length about the evils of the older generation. Naturally, they intend to create a better world (which of course, they did....not). The only recognizable member of the cast is the decidedly over-30 Allen Garfield. The incidental music by Earth Opera is one of the few redeeming features of Roommates. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

When the clerk learns that his boss is a crook, he runs back to his girl, makes nice-nice and gives the roomie the boot. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide

Inasmuch as Windflowers was also released as The Story of a Draft Dodger, it isn't difficult to figure out when it was filmed. This 1960s time capsule stars John Kramer as Paul Ramsey, who assumes an alias and goes on the run when Uncle Sam sends him "greetings." The film covers six years in Ramsey's life, charting his disenchantment with the Establishment and his gradual radicalization. Surprisingly, the word "Vietnam" is not mentioned once. Written, directed and edited by Adolfas Mekas, Windflowers sometimes resembles an experimental project cooked up by a college drama department. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- Pola Chapelle, Ronnie Gilbert, (more)
Former ballerina Marie Liljedahl became an international sex symbol after this provocative exploitation film from director Joe Sarno (My Body Hungers). Liljedahl stars as Inga, a studious virgin who goes to stay with her 32-year old Aunt Greta (Monica Strommerstedt) at her home in Stockholm. The nubile Inga's presence disrupts the household, stirring trouble with Greta's kept boytoy Karl and her secret admirer Einar. Although melodramatic and trite, the film did a great deal of box-office business due to its steamy content and the frequent sexual activity of its beautiful young star. ~ Robert Firsching, All Movie Guide
- Starring:
- Marie Liljedahl
A loyal wife becomes the subject of an indecent proposal in this vintage sexploitation drama. Kendall Harvey III (Judson Todd) is a wealthy and jaded playboy with a reputation for bedding nearly any woman who crosses his path. One night, Click spots Harvey in a go-go club; hoping to make a good impression with the wealthy socialite, Click offers to introduce him to some attractive and willing women, and they repair to the studio of bohemian artist Bobbi (Joanna Mills), who has a knack for finding beautiful nude models. Through Bobbi, Harvey and Click meet Peggy Johns (Loraine Claire), an elegant and attractive blonde whom Harvey would like to add to his stable of conquests. However, Peggy is married to an advertising man, Roger (George Wolfe), who has just started his own agency. When Harvey learns that Roger's business has fallen on hard times, he makes Peggy an offer -- he can arrange for Roger to land a lucrative account that could save his company, but only if Peggy is willing to spend two days at his beck and call. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide
