An American looking for excitement overseas finds more than she can handle in this cautionary drama. Melina (Louise Sorel), a young American woman, disappears while traveling in Great Britain, and her father Ben (Eddie Albert) sends her fiancée Carson (Clifford David) to the U.K. in hopes of discovering what's become of her. Carson learns that Melina has fallen in with a group of thrill-seeking beatniks known as "The Pack." She's decided to call off the engagement, and she uses the gang's loutish leader, Moise (Oliver Reed), to run interference and keep Carson at arm's length. Carson stays on Melina's trail, but as her new life with the Pack becomes more and more sordid, tragedy seems inevitable. The Party's Over was shot in 1963, but disputes with British censors prevented the film from opening in London until 1965, in a cut version that reportedly displeased director Guy Hamilton, who at the time lobbied to have his name removed from the credits. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

Though its title suggests a spoof of The Man from U.N.C.L.E., this Avengers episode actually concerns a young woman named Georgie Price-Jones (Liz Fraser), who for reasons unknown is pretending to be Emma Peel. This is annoying enough, but when several people of Georgie's acquaintance turn up dead, things really take a nasty turn. Meanwhile, the real Emma Peel is in the clutches of a mercenary art dealer, who intends to auction her off to the highest bidder. Chock full of clever inside jokes and snappy one-liners, "The Girl from Auntie" was written by Roger Marshall; it was first shown in England on January 22, 1966, and in America on June 6 of that same year. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

But there's more -- the enemy in question is utterly invisible. It is up to the Doctor and Steven (Peter Purves) to battle what they cannot see to save the lives of their companions. Victor Mature stars in this European-based crime thriller. Mature is an FBI agent on the trail of a drug smuggling operation, following his quarry all over the Continent (with accompanying pretty pictures of Portugal, Spain, France etc.) The criminal mastermind (Trevor Howard) is something of a lunatic, who has already strangled Mature's sister to death just for the hell of it. Anita Ekberg plays Howard's luscious courier; as usual, her "acting" consists to breathing heavily in a low-cut dress. A movie based on a true story, this is the story of a man who was exiled as a thief from his village but later returns for revenge. He plans to buy the entire district up as part of a water reservoir project but an old woman and her stepson stand in his way. Revenge, murder, desperation and love all intertwine in this moving account.
