Bulwer-Lytton involves the paranormal investigations of a ghost-chasing psychic expert (Valentine Dyall), who relates a chilling tale to his peers about the resident specters inhabiting a young English couple's recently acquired home -- the very house in which they have met to swap tales of the macabre.
