This is an uneven sci-fi farce that combines electronic imaging and video but stops short of a rampant, comic-book approach to its tale. Hurry Cane (Piero von Arnim), Daisy Bit (Linda Himbert), and the crazed Dr. Popov (Hans-Peter Hallwachs) are a determined trio bent on completing a trip to Mars to foil the evil Argon (Ugo Kier). Argon is a space bandit who poses a serious threat to the planet Earth unless he can be subdued and conquered.

Originally Der Konigswaltser, The Royal Waltz is a lighthearted opera with no message or moral whatsoever. As he often would be during his long career, Curd Jurgens (here billed as Juergens) is cast as Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria. Set in Munich in 1852, the story concentrates on the impending marriage between the Emperor and Duchess Elisabeth of Bavaria (Carola Hoehn), affectionately known as "Cissy." Their love affair is counterpointed with the backstairs flirtation between young Count Ferdinand (Willi Forst) and humble caterer's daughter Theres Tomasoni (Beli Finkenzeller), which sparks a scandal that only Franz Joseph himself can iron out. The English subtitles of Royal Waltz undercut the film's charm with such anachronistic exclamations as "She's hot stuff!" ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Harry Piel is both star and director of Bobby Geht Los. The title translates as Bobby Starts Off, which indeed he does -- and what a start-off. Regarded by his fans as the Teutonic equivalent to Douglas Fairbanks, star Piel never stops moving, whether escaping the villains or rescuing the heroine. His peripatetic behavior is offset by the lugubrious antics of the two comic-relief characters, played by Kurt Lillen and Eugene Rex. Proof of Harry Piel's popularity in his native land was that Bobby Geht Los was his 89th vehicle, with number 90 still on the way. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
