In a routine melodrama with a universal theme, an elderly Korean couple is forced to live with their oldest son because they have nowhere else to go. The couple can no longer live on their own in the countryside, and all their children now live in the city. Like others, they have just two choices in their later years: they can either go to one of the many forbidding senior citizens' homes or they can stay with one of their children. (There is no financial assistance for the elderly in South Korea.)
