In this fast-paced actioner, a brave young woman must deliver a specially designed, top-secret super-destructo armored motorcycle that runs on oxygen to the US military after the man assigned to deliver it, her lover, is murdered by enemy agents. Soon after finding his body, the woman finds a video he made that tells her how to work the machine and where she must take it. Unfortunately for her, the enemy is out there waiting and determined to steal the bike for themselves. Part of the fun in this film is looking for popular B movie stars from years' past. This sci-fi comedy from Desperately Seeking Susan (1985) director Susan Seidelman stars John Malkovich along with several other actors from his Steppenwolf Theatre troupe in Chicago. Malkovich stars as Dr. Jeff Peters, a scientist for the Chemtech Corporation who has invented an affable robotic clone of himself named Ulysses (also played by Malkovich). Unfortunately, Jeff is long on brains but short on personality or warmth, leaving his double an empty vessel, emotionally speaking. Believing that if Ulysses only had a bit more spark he could be utilized as a publicity gimmick and fundraising tool, Chemtech sends public relations executive Frankie Stone (Ann Magnuson) to train him in the ways of the heart and human interaction. Hollywood director John Reinhardt spent most of the 1940s megging films in South America, specifically Argentina. In Reinhardt's Una Novia en Apuros (A Bride In Trouble), newlywed Alicia Barrie receives a mysterious message on her wedding night. Her new husband suspects that the missive has been sent by one of Barrie's former boyfriends and goes on a rampage. So violent is hubby's temper that our heroine is virtually forced into the arms of handsome Estaban Serrador, who turns out to be the right man for her after all. Some scattered laughs are provided by Pedro Quadracci as a sardonic seen-it-all chauffeur. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
