In this crime thriller, Leslie Steckler (Peter Firth) is an inoffensive, polite and very quiet man. He does, however, have a particular animus against blondes wearing white. In fact, among that small group of women, he is a cold-blooded serial killer, instead of the meek dentist he usually appears to be. He is looking for someone to tell his story to, and when he discovers that the (brunette) writer Ellen Carter (Harriet Robinson) has murdered her husband, he feels that he has found a perfect person. It helps, of course, that her novelistic specialty is serial killers. However, Inspector Taylor (Don Henderson) of Scotland Yard is on Ellen's case, and will soon be on Leslie's. ~ Clarke Fountain, All Movie Guide

This confused sequel -- bearing many names in the credits: Delta Force 2, Delta Force 2: Operation Stranglehold, Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection -- to the first Delta Force movie lacks the nightmarish collection of guest stars gracing the first film, i.e. Hanna Shygulla, Martin Balsam, Shelley Winters, George Kennedy, and Joey Bishop. Chuck Norris, however, returns as Col. Scott McCoy, a man in a blue funk because notorious drug dealer Ramon Cota (Billy Drago) arranged to have McCoy's partner and his partner's wife and baby brother killed. Cota has also kidnapped three DEA agents to boot. Even without Lee Marvin, Col. McCoy wants to enact biblical vengeance upon Cota and his cartel. As a result, McCoy and his marines travel to the Latin American dictatorship of San Carlos. There they destroy half of the country's cocaine supply and proceed to search out and destroy the evil Cota and his minions. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Set during the Allied invasion of the island of Guadalcanal in the Pacific theater during WWII, this film is based on the novel by James Jones. Keir Dullea is Private Doll, who dreads the invasion and steals a pistol to help him protect himself. Sergeant Welsh (Jack Warden), a caustic, battle-scarred veteran, hates Doll, whom he considers a coward. In battle, Doll kills a Japanese soldier and is filled with remorse, which further angers the sergeant. The next day, an emboldened Doll wipes out an entire enemy machine gun post and begins to feel as sadistic as Welsh. The two must work together to clear away some mines, but as they do, their platoon is surprised by a Japanese raid. ~ Michael Betzold, All Movie Guide
