Fed up with being at the mercy of school bully Razor (David Kriegel), Ben (Jeremy Miller) signs up for karate lessons. Alas, his self-confidence is dealt a fatal blow when he is bested in an impromptu karate session--by his own mother Maggie (Joanna Kerns). Tracey Gold (Carol) does not appear in this episode, which is highlighted by a looney "chop-socky" movie parody. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

After a lengthy absence, Luke's truck-driver father George (Gary Grubbs) rolls back into his son's life, begging the boy to join him on his next road trip. When Luke (Leonardo DiCaprio) refuses, George claims to be suffering from a bad back. Mike (Kirk Cameron) thinks George is faking, but in fact his back problems are so severe that he is danger of becoming completely paralyzed--and before long, Jason (Alan Thicke) and Ben (Jeremy Miler) have agreed to drive George's latest load to its destination. Tracey Gold (Carol) does not appear in this episode, which marks the final series appearance of Leonardo DiCaprio (wonder whatever happened to him?) ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the first half of Growing Pains' two-part series finale (originally telecast as a single hour-long episode), the Seaver family is faced with a major uprooting when Maggie (Joanna Kerns) is offered a job in Washington, DC, as media relations director for a US Senator. While Maggie and Jason (Alan Thicke) look forward to leaving Long Island behind, Ben (Jeremy Miller) and Carol (Tracey Gold) are dead set against the move. As for Mike (Kirk Cameron), his reaction is, if not entirely unexpected, certainly characteristic! This episode was originally seen on the same evening that two other popular ABC series, MacGyver and Who's the Boss, ended their lengthy runs. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

In the early '90s, Brian Bosworth made the seamless transition from football bad boy to onscreen bad ass. In Stone Cold, the Boz plays cop Joe Huff, a brute force specialist. The FBI contracts him to take down a biker gang known as the Brotherhood, who have been implicated in drug trafficking and several murders. Joe assumes the personality of John Stone and goes undercover. His mission seems not to bust the gang but rather to kill with excessive force. Before he can take the law into his own hands, however, he has to get in with the gang's leader, the impressively tough Chains. The Boz doesn't disappoint, and he gets his chance in the final confrontation where he takes on several score of the Brotherhood in the street battle to end all street battles. ~ Brian Whitener, Rovi

Luke (Leonardo DiCaprio) is afraid to go to the doctor, so Jason (Alan Thicke) goes along with him from moral support. This means that Mike (Kirk Cameron) will have to take Jason's place at an important psychiatric banquet--but Mike shifts his responsiblities to Luke and Ben (Jeremy Miller). Even so, the "fun" doesn't really get under way until Jason begins exhibiting bizarre side effects from his painkillers. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Based on Jane Adams' book of the same name, the made-for-TV Sex and the Single Parent stars Susan Saint James as Sally and Mike Farrell as George. Newly divorced from their respective spouses, both Sally and George intend to celebrate their independence by throwing sexual caution to the wind. But the couple's romance is complicated by their sense of obligation to their children. Accompanied by a raunchy ad campaign that promised much more than the film delivered, Sex and the Single Parent was first seen over CBS on September 19, 1979. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
