This run-of-the-mill "romantic story" may not seem as romantic to non-Bulgarian audiences because its hero and heroine are seriously flawed. Ivan (Ivan Ivanov) has never doubted that women are inferior and has no problem telling his girlfriend Zhana (Irene Krivoshieva) what she should or should not do. In spite of their declared feelings for each other, he is in no hurry to marry. Then the tables are turned when he proposes and she decides that other men are suddenly more interesting than ever before -- and she says "no." Their saga continues over the next decade plus, with no change in Ivan's increasingly unethical attitude or Zhana's ignorance. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide

In this made-for-cable sequel to Pythons, the U.S. Army's Colonel Jefferson (Marcus Aurelius) has successfully neutralized the horrific 12-ton, 57-foot python that had been developed as a jungle weapon by a top-secret intelligence organization. Unfortunately, still another synthetic "Beta Snake" has escaped from Sub-Basement 9 of the Russian-American Joint Military Operations -- and this one is 85 feet long, and even meaner and more invulnerable than the original python prototype. When the slimy predator slithers into the Ural Mountains, it is up to disgraced ex-ballplayer Dwight Stoddard (Dana Ashbrook) and his Russian wife Nadia (Simone Jade McKinnon) to capture and kill the monster. Alas, mysterious American Greg Larson (Billy Zabka), who claims to be a "biotechnician," proves to be the real snake in the grass in this melodramatic Bulgarian-American coproduction. Pythons II was first telecast in the U.S. by the Sci-Fi Channel on August 17, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

A wealthy industrialist in search of a tax break finds himself at the mercy of a deranged scientist in this surreal comic thriller from Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell. While his overwhelming greed and hawkish business sensibilities have helped to ensure pharmaceutical CEO William Cole (Campbell) a fairly comfortable existence, that doesn't stop the money-minded businessman from traveling to Bravoda with his trophy wife, Jackie (Antoinette Byron), in a bid to diversify his company's holdings. As William heads out to meet with city officials and Jackie gets better acquainted with handsome chauffeur Yegor (Vladimir Kolev), Dr. Ivan Ivanov (Stacy Keach) and his hip-hopping assistant Pavel (Ted Raimi) come close to completing an experiment that may revolutionize organ transplants. When an unfortunate encounter with obsessive hotel maid Tatoya (Tamara Gorski) finds William, Yegor, and Jackie all taken under the care of Dr. Ivanov, a series of transplant surgeries result in both William and Yegor sharing William's body and Jackie's brain being transferred into a break-dancing robot. Now, if William ever has any hope of getting his head back to himself, he and Yegor must use their combined knowledge to hit the streets to find the woman responsible for their deaths. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
