Gennady Vassiliev's adventure film Vassily Buslayav, adapted from the poem by Sergei Narovchatov, tells of how the title character becomes a hero in his native country. Although he enjoyed the privileged upbringing as the son of a political leader, Buslayav maintains close contact with the common people.
