On Spring Cleaning Day, Joey (David Coulier) accidentally gives away Stephanie's beloved toy teddy bear. The girl is totally crushed, especially since "Mr. Bear" represents one of the last tangible links between Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and her late mother Pam (played in flashback by Christie Houser) in her only series appearance). On a lighter note, Jesse (John Stamos) attempts to replace a broken drawer-handle on his own, without telling Danny (Bob Saget)...and with the expected disastrous results. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This silly horror film stars Dean Jagger in a zoned-out performance as a mad scientist whose experiments in halting the aging process have reduced the residents of Smalltown, U.S.A. to shambling zombies. Since his serum requires massive amounts of extracted human pituitary fluid, Jagger is ever on the lookout for more unwilling donors -- i.e. nearly everyone unlucky enough to pass through town. This film is apparently assembled from pieces of two different projects, including an uncompleted film from the mid-'70s, and spiced up with some gratuitous nudity courtesy of former Playboy playmate Lynda Wiesmeier. As expected, the combination doesn't really work -- the editors have made a commendable attempt at maintaining some form of continuity, but the end result seems hardly worth the effort. ~ Cavett Binion, All Movie Guide

"Daddy" is Dermot Mulroney--a high-school-age kid who has no clue of what he's in for. Mulroney has gotten his girlfriend Patricia Arquette pregnant, less out of callousness than naivete. Arquette drops out of school, thinking she can drop back in anytime, while Mulroney puts his music lessons on hold for the "duration," also treating the situation as temporary. The film is remarkable in conveying the principles' utter lack of preparedness for their upcoming parental responsibilities. Some critics felt that the film should have been required viewing for teens who think themselves wise beyond their years simply because they've discovered sex. Made for TV, Daddy was first telecast April 5, 1987. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This four-hour epic romance in the style of Romeo and Juliet is based on an 1862 novel by Portuguese writer Camilo Castelo Branco. Set in the seaside town of Oporto, the romantic tragedy centers on the doomed love affair between two teens; Teresa (Cristina Hauser) and her lover Simao (Antonio Sequeira Lopes) both come from highly-placed, aristocratic families. Their relationship is forbidden by their illustrious parents, who are competitive and antagonistic towards one another. Teresa's family orders her to marry her cousin, and from that moment onward, the stage is set for tragedy. This is the fifth film from acclaimed Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
