Kevin Clash Movies
One of the most prominent of all vocal contributors to Jim Henson's Muppets during the '80s, '90s, and 2000s, Kevin Clash grew up in a predominantly African-American Baltimore suburb, and projected an unusual degree of aptitude for both designing original puppets and performing with them, from a tender age. He kick-started his career with work on The Great Space Coaster and Captain Kangaroo, then commenced his longstanding association with Henson by voicing a myriad of characters on the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth, and extended the working relationship into contributions to several of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles films, Muppet Treasure Island, and a host of other Henson projects. Clash found his broadest appeal, however, by providing the voice for a single character: the beloved, impossibly cute Elmo -- both on Sesame Street and in the feature The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland (1999). Clash won a myriad of Emmys for that portrayal. He relayed his life story in the 2006 autobiography My Life as a Furry Red Monster: What Being Elmo Has Taught Me About Life, Love, and Laughing Out Loud. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide- Starring:

George Lucas produced and Jim Henson directed this gothic fantasy which pits living and breathing actors Jennifer Connelly and David Bowie (who, along with Trevor Jones, provides the film's music) against a motley collection of Muppet monsters. The film centers upon teenage Sarah (Connelly), who lives in a fantasy world of myth and magic, evil spells, and wondrous enchantment. She is baby-sitting her little brother when she cavalierly wishes that goblins would take him away. She gets her wish, and a coterie of goblins abduct him. She then encounters Jareth (David Bowie), the ruler of a mystical world one step removed from reality. He tells Sarah that the only way to get her brother back is to find her way through a M.C. Escher-like labyrinth and find the castle at the center. As she makes her way through the maze, she faces a number of horrific challenges (like the Bog of Eternal Stench) before she finds her way to the gravity-defying castle, where her brother is being held by the evil goblins. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Robert Louis Stevenson's classic tale of a young orphan who becomes involved with pirate Long John Silver is given the Muppet treatment in this vibrant children's musical. As in The Muppet Christmas Carol, the film stays loyal to the original storyline but casts the well-known puppets in many of the supporting roles. Young Jim Hawkins remains human, as does Long John Silver, played by an amusingly exaggerated Tim Curry. However, Captain Smollet is played by the evergreen Kermit the Frog; Miss Piggy, Gonzo, and Rizzo the Rat serve as roving narrators; and numerous other Muppets assume smaller roles. The familiar adventure plot is enlivened by the Muppets' good-natured, winking sense of humor, and a number of anarchic musical numbers are reminiscent of the original Muppet Show. Long-time followers of the Muppets may find the film less fresh than Jim Henson's original creations, but the combination of old-fashioned storytelling, intriguing design, and clever humor will undoubtedly amuse younger audiences. ~ Judd Blaise, All Movie Guide

At long last, the secret of just what the Great Gonzo happens to be is revealed! As Gonzo and his friend Rizzo hit the road in search of their roots, Gonzo makes a shocking discovery: his parents are actually space aliens from another galaxy. After announcing this startling news on Miss Piggy's talk show (hey, if Ricki Lake and Rosie O'Donnell can do it, why not Miss Piggy?), Gonzo finds himself the subject of a dark and mysterious government conspiracy, led by the nefarious K. Edgar Singer (Jeffrey Tambor). In time, Gonzo is forced to choose: should he hop on board the UFO and sail off to live with his family, or stay on Earth with the friends he knows and loves? Muppets From Space once again pairs the late Jim Henson's creations with a stellar cast of human beings, including F. Murray Abraham, David Arquette, Ray Liotta, and Andie MacDowell. ~ Mark Deming, All Movie Guide

The first of Elmo's World is called "Dancing" and features Mr. Noodle, a warm yet clueless character, and Dorothy the pet goldfish. Elmo demonstrates the hula and some moves that can only be described as interpretive. Other children also dance along. The second, "Books," introduces the library with the help of a father/son duo. The final segment, "Music," showcases the flute, violin, and drum. Guess which one Mr. Noodle gets? Elmo is his usual charismatic monsterness in explaining why he is such a good babysitter.
