Bearing the kind of golden-skinned, blue-eyed handsomeness that often leads to predictions of superstardom, Sean Patrick Flanery has been acting on screens big and small since the 1980s. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 11, 1965, Flanery was raised in Houston, Texas. While attending Houston's University of Saint Thomas, he decided to take a drama class in the hopes of pursuing a fellow drama student. Flanery's interest in the girl proved fleeting, but the same could not be said of his interest in the theatre: after getting hooked, he packed up and headed out to Los Angeles, where he had an obligatory stint waiting tables before he found an agent. After eight months of looking for work, Flanery began acting in television commercials, which in turn led to work on various television shows. Although he made his film debut in 1987's A Tiger's Tale, it was his work in the 1992 television series Young Indiana Jones that gave Flanery his first taste of recognition. Although the series was short-lived, it did manage to build up something of a fan base, and Flanery continued to make Young Indy specials until 1996.In 1995, the actor returned to film, appearing in an adaptation of Truman Capote's The Grass Harp and starring in Powder. Unfortunately for Flanery, the latter film was mired in controversy surrounding suspect actions on the part of its director, which obscured the quality of the actor's performance. Flanery continued to appear in a number of films, including 1997's Suicide Kings and the 1998 Drew Barrymore vehicle Best Men. Also in 1998, he could be seen portraying a callous rocker in the independent film Girl. The following year, Flanery starred opposite Sarah Michelle Gellar in the romantic comedy Simply Irresistible. Later that same year, he could be seen giving romance another try in Body Shots, a tale of angst-ridden twenty-somethings in L.A.'s treacherous dating scene.
He was in The Boondock Saints and the gentle family drama Kiss the Bride. He was the lead in Tobe Hooper's The Damned Thing, which was part of the Masters of Horror series. He worked on The Dead Zone TV series, and returned as Connor MacManus for The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day. Sean Patrick Flannery and Rod Taylor star in this horrific tale of a small town overrun by a conspiracy of flesh eating ravens. Middletown sheriff Wayne Merkle (Flannery) has grown used to the quiet life over the years, and like the other citizens of his bustling community he could have never suspected what horrors were about to unfold during his last day before moving to the city with his pretty new bride Cynthia (Kristin Booth). The first sign that something was amiss in the skies over Middletown occurred when outcast farmer Clyde (Stephen McHattie) was attacked. But the locals have all grown tired of Clyde's bizarre exploits over the years, so when he comes into town claiming that he was attacked by ravens most folks simply laugh him off. Their guffaws soon turn to blood-curdling screams, however, when the local girl's soccer team comes under attack and the citizens are forced to barricade themselves in the town diner. While Sheriff Merkle and his good friend Doc (Taylor) do their best to board up the diner and ensure the safety of the citizens, they quickly discover how futile their efforts were when the flesh-eating fowls make quick work of the flimsy shelter. It seems that local farmer Oskar (John Ralston) has been hiding some particularly unsettling developments from his fellow townspeople as of late, leaving the average citizens easy pickings for the razor-talon terror that circles above. A man who has spent much of his life dealing with grief finally has more than he knows what to do with in this independent drama. Walter Hartwig Jr. (Sean Patrick Flanery) is a New York City cop who is haunted by the death of his sister, who drowned at Coney Island when he was a boy. Hartwig saw his sister die and has felt responsible ever since. Every year on her birthday, he has himself thrown into the ocean as penance, and works with the NYPD Harbor Unit in hope of someday paying back his act of childhood negligence. After a passenger jet crashes into the ocean near the city, Hartwig is sent out to help, and is mesmerized by the sight of Sabrina Hampton (Melina Kanakaredes), a musician who died in the accident. Sabrina reminds him of his sister, and he sets out to find her twin sister, who worked as a teacher but has been traumatized by her loss and now refuses to leave her apartment. As Hartwig begins losing touch with reality, he finds solace when he strikes up a friendship with June Sickles (JoBeth Williams). June lost her son, who was a police officer, on September 11, 2001, and since then has been raising his daughter, giving her plenty of experience in dealing with the harsh side of fate. Having escaped from a magic mirror stored in a safe haven for fairy-tale artifacts, an evil witch (Natalija Nogulich) schemes to vanquish her present "good witch" competition -- namely, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano), and Paige (Rose McGowan). The witch utilizes the other fairy-tale props in a twisted, perverted fashion, exposing the Charmed Ones to such perils as the Big Bad Wolf and the inevitable poisoned apple. In other developments, Piper receives angelic advice about her unborn child, and Phoebe faces the possibility of unemployment when her newspaper is put up for sale. A let's-pretend villain becomes a real-life hero in this action drama. John (Sean Patrick Flanery) is a down-on-his-luck actor who is playing a black-hatted cowboy in an "Old West" show at an Arizona tourist trap. When a gang of violent bikers roars through the town, John is one of the few people willing to stand up to the invaders, and after the motorcycle gang decides to stick around for a while, John and a handful of his fellow cowboys find themselves joining forces with the police to protect the town after many of the locals turn tail and flee. Those nasty Russians are at it again: This time a band of escaped Ruskie convicts lead by the evil General Siminoff (Arnold Vosloo) is trying to smuggle stolen Saran nerve gas through Alaska. Their deadly terroristic plan would have worked, but they weren't counting on Customs Agent Shawn Brooks (Sean Patrick Flanery) to be in charge of the border. A scientist (Chad Lowe) discovers a mold in the spooky old house he lives in with his wife (Kelly Rutherford). In order to test his theory that the discovery could help fight many different brain disorders, the scientist injects himself with the mold. The man undergoes some strange changes, which may or may not have something to do with the house's previous owner, a woman who was hung under suspicion of being a witch.
