A boy discovers that his coach may be more than just a nice old man who likes baseball in this family-oriented drama. Jason, a kid who loves baseball, is not doing very well with his Little League team, and he is bumped from the regular line-up to an "expansion team" of kids who aren't making the grade. Determined to make good, Jason recruits a couple of friends who are strong players, and he discovers that his school's janitor, Mack Henry, knows the game backwards and forwards and is willing to serve as coach. With Mack's help, the team starts to show promise, but a visit to a baseball card collector's shop sparks a question in Jason's mind -- could Mr. Henry be Buck McHenry, the legendary star of baseball's Negro League? Demi Moore stars in this unusual psychological drama about two women caught between reality and imagination. Marie (Moore) is an American widow trying to raise two children under difficult circumstances in a small town in France. Marty (also played by Moore) is a successful businesswoman in New York City who wants to leave her busy life and lead a quieter existence in Europe. But Marty is just a product of Marie's imagination -- or at least that's what Marie thinks. Marty, on the other hand, is convinced that Marie is just someone she dreamed up. Who is right? Or are both of them wrong? And where does it leave the men in their lives (Stellan Skarsgard and William Fichtner)? Writer Ron Bass and director Joan Micklin Silver combine their melodramatic tendencies for the Lifetime movie Invisible Child. The story involves a woman, Annie Beeman (Rita Wilson), who has somehow developed a mental condition where she believes she has an imaginary daughter named Maggie. Amazingly enough, her husband, Tim (Victor Garber), and daughter, Rebecca (Mae Whitman), play along with her for five years. Their son, Sam (David Dorfman), is too young to understand and he grows up actually believing that Maggie is real. Eventually they hire an English nanny, Gillian (Tushka Bergen), who brings a rational perspective to the situation. They all work together to save the family and rid Annie of her delusions. ~ Andrea LeVasseur, All Movie Guide

When young Chuck Murdock (Joshua Zuehlke) visits a nuclear missile site, he learns that one bomb would destroy the earth in less time than it would take a piece of silverware to drop from his hand to the floor. This information sends the sensitive boy into existential angst. Wondering why anybody should do anything when the world can be destroyed so quickly, and hoping to raise consciousness about nuclear weapons, Chuck quits his Little League team. He gains a little bit of local press. One of those stories is read by NBA star "Amazing Grace" Smith (Alex English), who is so moved by the boy's story that he too quits playing his sport. This produces a great deal of national press, as well as a handful of stars from other sports that decide to join the ranks of Amazing Grace and Chuck. Some powers that be in the sports world, as well as the government, do not look kindly upon these "strikes" and set about to end the movement.
