Peter is a Swedish soldier, absent without leave after discovering his girlfriend's unfaithfulness to him. He is traveling south to Stockholm from the north of Sweden, possibly to confront his girlfriend, possibly to return to his post. He meets Hanna and her father along the way and travels with them. Hanna and her father had been separated for a long time and are enjoying a reunion. Following on the heels of the preceding animated feature, Pelle Svansloes (Peter No-Tail), this moppet adventure film has no real scares for the tots. Peter No-Tail -- his forever embarrassing lack of a tail makes him the butt of jokes, so to speak -- dreams that he is in the Wild West. Just as he is overcoming his enemy Hobo Mans, he wakes up. Peter decides to take a trip into the forest, but unknown to him, Hobo Mans and his catty sidekicks are after him again, and this time it is not a dream. The internationally produced The Inside Man was inspired by a true story. In 1981, a Soviet submarine ran aground on the coast of Sweden. The sub was carrying a hush-hush laser search device, which promptly vanished. In this 1984 recreation of the incident, Dennis Hopper is cast as the CIA agent assigned to track down the missing laser. Aided by young assistant Gosta Ekman Jr., Hopper finds himself in a life-and-death struggle with a variety of foreign agents, each with his own agenda. Man with a Maid has also been circulated as The Groove Room and What the Swedish Butler Saw. Martin Long plays a swinging bachelor who purchases a very old London apartment. Long finds that he's inherited a roommate: The ghost of Jack the Ripper. What follows is a lumpy blend of sex farce, gratuitous nudity and appalling violence. The film's official leading lady Diana Dors is well past her prime, thus most of the sexual calisthenics are handled by others. A violin student studying in Switzerland returns home to Sweden to visit his mother. During the summer vacation, his mother reveals the boy's late father fiddled around with more than the violin as the classical virtuoso engaged in numerous extramarital affairs. His sister is revealed to be only his half-sister as they both have different mothers. His sister longs to have sex and casts her lustful eyes towards her dear brother. He spends the night with three naked women who each take turns relating the sordid details of their first sexual experiences. Even Swedish censors had an initial reluctance to allow the film to be released because of the graphic content of sex and nudity.
