A hapless team of military-intelligence personnel attempts to determine the location of a secret German fighter-plane base in director Dale Kutzera's pointed satire of kitschy training films and preemptive warfare. Authentic footage of World War II training films combines with a newly filmed plot concerning a military analyst, a hawkish major, and a figurehead general attempting to determine the location of a purported German Ghost Squadron base. The result is a film that knowingly parodies timeless military clichés while simultaneously skewering the Bush administration's frightening penchant for to rushing into war without proper cause. Patrick Muldoon, Elizabeth Bennett, and Mackenzie Astin star. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

Rowan Atkinson once more stars as the eminently clumsy and clueless Mr. Bean in this 30-minute comedy special. The fun begins with the first of three brief sketches, "The Hospital," in which Bean gets his hand stuck in a teapot, then tries to get instant service at the local outpatient ward. In "Camera," our hero prepares a dour security guard for a very special photograph. And in "Bedtime," Bean sees nothing illogical in using a calculator to cure his insomnia. Originally telecast in Britain on September 20, 1995, "Goodnight Mr. Bean" has since been issued to video in such compilations as The Final Frolics of Mr. Bean and The Complete Mr. Bean, Vol. 1. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Management consultant Diane Keaton has no time in her life for anything except her high-profile job. All this changes when she inherits a 14-month-old infant from a pair of recently deceased-and very distant-relatives. Intending to put the child up for adoption, she discovers that she has grown fond of the kid and has begun to thrive on the responsibilities of motherhood. All of this, of course, jeopardizes Keaton's love life and professional standing, but all turns out well when the baby inadvertently leads to a whole new moneymaking agenda for our heroine. Capraesque in concept, Baby Boom avoids phony sentiment and obvious humor, emerging as one of the singular comic delights of the late 1980s. On great bit has Keaton "celebrating" a major business coup by surreptiously performing an under-the-table jig (a bit of business that dates back to the 1924 Reginald Denny comedy Skinner's Dress Suit). Baby Boom was spun off into a TV sitcom in 1989, with Kate Jackson filling Diane Keaton's designer shoes. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

This murder mystery has an unusual twist: the puzzle over who did it takes a back seat to the effects of the investigation itself. A large, partly-communal household is thrown into disarray when a part-time prostitute is murdered and members of the household come under suspicion. James Barratt (Robert East) is an arrogant aristocratic type who initially seems to be the killer. That possibility becomes less likely when he evolves into a decidedly honest person. His younger brother David (Sam Dale) is also a suspect, especially when his likeable nature turns out to be flawed. Their sister Sarah (Elizabeth Bennett) also loses some of her reasonable exterior when push comes to shove. Other characters move in and out of an investigation that threatens to reveal more about psyches and relationships than about the unknown killer. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, All Movie Guide
