Andrew Davis directed this exciting thriller starring Steven Seagal, sans ponytail, and featuring electric, over-the-top performances by Gary Busey and Tommy Lee Jones. This action saga takes place on the battleship USS Missouri, about to be decommissioned from service after a visit from George Bush. When Bush departs the vessel, a band of terrorists overcome the remaining skeleton crew and take over the ship, under the ruse of holding a surprise birthday party for the ship's commander, Captain Adams (Patrick O'Neal). The band is led by Strannix (Jones), a disgruntled ex-CIA operative, and his right-hand man, the psychotic Krill (Busey). The terrorists plan to steal the ship's store of nuclear warheads, transfer them to a stolen North Korean submarine, and sell them to a Middle Eastern country. Unfortunately for Strannix, he has overlooked the ship's cook, Casey Ryback (Seagal). Ryback is a much-honored Navy SEAL who, because of a minor scandal, is quietly completing his twenty-year tour in the galley of the Missouri. Forced into action, Ryback, along with the woman who jumped out of Captain Adams' birthday cake (Erika Eleniak), knocks off the bad guys one-by-one while crawling inside the bowels of the ship. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Based on the popular video game Street Fighter II, Street Fighter stars Jean-Claude Van Damme as Col. Guile, the cocky but brave leader of an Allied Nations fighting force. When the evil General Bison (Raul Julia), the power-mad leader of Shadaloo, kidnaps a bus full of Allied Nations relief workers and holds them for a multi-billion dollar ransom, Guile and his team are sent in to do battle with Bison; aiding Guile is intrepid TV journalist Chun-Li (Ming-Na Wen), while a pair of con men (Damian Chapa and Byron Mann) try to play both sides against the middle for their own purposes. Sex and death are the main themes running through this thriller. Matt Dickson is a former hockey player turned L.A. cop. Since his wife left him he has become a hard-drinking carouser. Dickson is on the trail of Welton, a psychotic boxer, using the names of famous fighters for his aliases has left a grisly trail of dead women found in cheap motels throughout the city. He is assisted by Catherine Briggs, a journalist, who helps him see the connection between these murders and similar ones in the past. But Catherine is not only there to help Dickson. Created by William Finkelstein of Civil Wars fame, the made-for-TV feature On Seventh Avenue was intended as the pilot for a weekly series. Wendy Makkena stars as Nadine Jacobs, the owner of a high-profile fashion business established by her father (played by actor-director Gene Saks). In order to keep her business afloat in a sea of cutthroat competitors, Nadine recklessly cuts several deals with a major investment firm--and with the Mob. In typical "pilot" fashion, the film ends with several loose plotlines still dangling and unresolved; guess we'll never know what happened now (sigh!) A soldier comes out of retirement to confront a former friend who betrayed his loyalties in this action thriller. Casey Sheppard (Michael Worth) and Frank Ratliff (Damian Chapa) were once members of an elite Navy SEALs squadron; while close friends, Sheppard is a disciplined, by-the-book warrior, while Ratliff has an emotional hair trigger and a strong reckless streak. One night, Ratliff snaps and after a violent incident he disappears, eventually surfacing as a rogue agent for hire; the shock of the incident causes Sheppard to leave the Navy. Years later, it's discovered that Ratliff has joined the payroll of an international terrorist network after he kidnaps Dr. Jane Burrows (Kate Connor), a renowned nuclear physicist who has been working with U.S. defense projects. Ratliff is demanding a billion dollars for Burrows' safe return, but while she's in his custody, Ratliff forces Burrows to create nuclear warheads to arm several missiles he's purchased on the black market. As Ratliff plays both sides against one other in a bid for untold wealth and power, Sheppard is persuaded to come out of retirement to rescue Burrows and bring Ratliff to justice. However, Sheppard discovers that Ratliff's base of operations is a former Russian missile base that's also the site of a methane gas leak; the use of guns or bombs could cause the entire compound to explode, so Sheppard assembles a team skilled in martial arts and hand-to-hand combat, including Kamiko (Karen Kim), Sheppard's former love whose father and twin sister were brutally murdered by Ratliff.
