Jeri Ryan Movies
Jeri Lynn Ryan is the stunning actress adored by science fiction fans for her portrayal of the Borg-human Seven of Nine on Star Trek: Voyager. She was born in Munich, Germany, but was raised on several military bases all over the world. Settling on Illinois for college, she joined a sorority and competed in beauty pageants, making it all the way to the Miss America Pageant in 1990. She started her acting career with TV movies (Co-Ed Call Girl) and made several guest appearances on shows like Matlock and Melrose Place. In 1997, she gained a reoccurring role on the short-lived NBC series Dark Skies and joined the cast of Voyager. She has since gained a loyal fan base for this role, which requires a costume so tight it takes nearly an hour to get into it. In 2001, she moved on to the role of Ronnie Cooke on the Fox drama Boston Public. Tamara Hernandez made her feature directorial debut with this role-reversal drama depicting a man on the receiving end of an abusive relationship. Cruel novelist Gloria (Honey Lauren) likes rough sex, and she finds fearful Billy (Steven Nelson), a female impersonator wannabe, in a grungy nightclub. After Gloria takes him home and rapes him, Billy falls in love with her. Her attractive cousin Lydia (Jeri Lynn Ryan) visits, and Gloria gets upset to find that her pet pig has been converted into an evening meal by Lydia. With the cliffhanger finale of Star Trek: Voyager's third season efficiently resolved in the opening salvo of season four, the crew of the Voyager finds itself with a new member: Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan), an earthling who in childhood had been assimilated into a Borg collective, forsaking her individuality in the process. As the season progresses, Seven of Nine's essential humanity slowly returns -- but given her Borg background, can she be trusted? Meanwhile, the Voyager bids goodbye to Ocampan crew person Kes (Jennifer Lien), who after the battle which briefly united her crew with the Borg is compelled to morph into an energy being -- but not before pushing the Voyager some 9,500 light years closer to the Alpha Quadrant. In other developments, Talaxian crew member Neelix (Ethan Phillips) ponders the significance of his existence after being snatched from the jaws of death; former antagonists B'Elanna Torres (Roxann Biggs-Dawson) and Lt. Tom Paris (Robert Duncan McNeill) fall in love; and Captain Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) faces a new threat to the well-being of herself and her crew in the form of "Species 8472." The season's most intriguing episode is "Living Witness," set in the far-distant future, in which a museum curator relates a "reconstructed" version of the Voyager's crucial intervention in the war between the Kyrians and the Vaskans. This season's cliffhanger finale finds the crew celebrating the likelihood that they will soon return to their home base -- but Janeway is curiously non-celebratory, and very grim. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Beverly Hills 90210 star Tori Spelling and Star Trek: Voyager actress Jeri Lynn Ryan headline this made-for-TV movie about a hardworking college student who thinks she's found the answer to her financial and self-esteem issues when she falls into the lifestyle of a high-priced escort. Lonely, plain-Jane, cash-strapped Joanna Halbert (Spelling) attends university classes while also helping out at the bakery run by her no-nonsense, widowed mother, Teri (Susan Blakely). When her classmates jokingly leave Joanna's name and number on the voicemail of a Malibu escort service, Joanna finds her curiosity piqued. After finding a new best gal pal in the form of the vivacious escort Kimberly (Ryan), Joanna soon finds herself working for Kimberly's boss, Ron Tamblin (Scott Plank), who promises her that she doesn't have to sleep with the clients she "dates." Soon, Joanna is dressing like a grown-up, stepping out with fabulous men -- and getting paid hundreds of dollars a night for her trouble. This secret double life soon, however, takes a toll on Joanna's relationships with her mother, her friends and her would-be beau, Jack (Barry Watson). Although Joanna chooses to sleep with one of her clients, she refuses to sleep with another. But when Ron threatens to fire her, she acquiesces, and soon Joanna finds herself going on more dates where the sex is not only compulsory, but kinky. When she tries to quit, violence ensues, ultimately leading Joanna to criminal court, where she must defend herself against a charge of attempted murder. And as usual, she helps to extricate an old friend from a murder charge. Soon after the dust settled, investigations revealed that the bloodshed may have been unnecessary. He kidnaps the girl's sister, then murders several people to cover his tracks. The police are at a loss to find the maniac, who remains in contact with the beauty queen via short, untraceable phone calls. William Devane plays the obsessed police detective who burns the midnight oil to put the clues together.
