Chan Siu Sing Movies
Chan Siu-cheung directs this low-budget, critically panned horror yarn. The film opens with beautiful lass Yin-ying (Eileen Tung Oi-lung) drowning herself in a lake just before her arranged wedding when her true love Yin-lin (Michael To Tai-yu) is murdered. Fast forward 60 years to the present when dead bodies keep turning up in the same lake where Yin-ying committed suicide. Beautiful singer Florence -- who looks just like Yin-ying (and who coincidentally is played by the same actress) -- is being pursued by lecherous cop Jeff (Lau Siu-kwan) -- who looks just like the thug Yin-ying was forced to marry. Jeff is convinced that outlaw Li Chie -- who happens to look just like Yin-lin -- is responsible for the spate of killings. Tragedy ensues. ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

Jean-Claude Van Damme proves that two cracked heads are better than one in Double Impact. Van Damme plays twins Chad and Alex, who were separated at birth when their parents were brutally murdered by members of a Hong Kong criminal cartel. Incredibly both Chad and Alex have grown up to become world-class martial arts experts. Chad is a snobbish Californian karate instructor, while Alex is a cigar-smoking smuggler in Hong Kong. The two are brought back together by the family bodyguard Frank Avery (Geoffrey Lewis) to team up to avenge their parents' murder. But stacked against them is a thoroughly nasty, over-the-top assassin named Moon (martial arts film great Bolo Yeung). ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide
