In this undistinguished, confusing story about priests, gangsters, illegal immigrants and everything except pizza, Grace (Bonnie Bedelia) is the mother of an invalid, wheelchair-bound daughter. For no clear reason, the daughter runs off to a mission near the Mexican border, and her worried mother immediately follows in pursuit. Grace has been ordained as a female priest and so she has a special interest in her daughter's destination. Father Angel (Nick Mancuso) runs the mission with anything but priestly compassion, ruling over the illegal immigrants in the area like a colonial master. After Grace arrives, she ends up very much involved in Father Angel's problems, and the two of them soon have to escape some gangsters from south of the border. Meanwhile, the daughter seems to have faded into the distance. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

Celebrated Broadway musical star Vivian Blaine is cast as--what else?--a celebrated Broadway musical star, named Rita Bristol. Headling a new production costarring her daughter Patti (Lorna Luft) and produced by her son Barry (Gregg Henry), Rita is among those expressing concern when an aspiring actress is seriously wounded by an apparent mugger. Likewise on the scene is Jessica (Angela Lansbury), who suspects that the mugging is a set-up job--and who ends up going into her sleuth act when a murder occurs. Also on the call-sheet in this episode are a couple of show-biz newcomers named Milton Berle and Robert Morse. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

After Duke Jarrett (Jeff Altman) is put into prison because he had sex with the wife of a government VIP, he discovers that life in the prison is out of control -- until a disciplinarian takes charge. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

There is hardly any variation on the stereotyped teens-and-sex movie in this story about four high school seniors who travel to Mexico to find a brothel and have something to brag about when they get back home. Among the four is the sensitive Woody (Tom Cruise) who is not sure he wants this trip, the nerd Wendell (John P. Navin, Jr.), the jock Spider (John Stockwell), and the big-talker Dave (Jackie Earle Haley). As the four set off on their adventure, they give a ride to Kathy (Shelley Long), a woman who is a bit ditsy, but decent, going to Mexico to get a divorce from her husband. Once south of the border the quintet meet up with a wide range of clichéd Mexican types and work out their individual experiences in the manner to which teen movies are accustomed. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi
