Director Ron Maxwell and producer Ted Turner return to the glory and tragedy of the Civil War in this historical drama, a prequel to Gettysburg, which examines the early days of the conflict through the experiences of three men. Col. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain (Jeff Daniels) left behind a quiet life and a career as a college professor to become one of the Union's greatest military minds. Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson (Stephen Lang) was, like Chamberlain, a man of great religious faith who served in the defense of the Confederacy. And Gen. Robert E. Lee (Robert Duvall), who led the Confederate army, was a man who was forced to choose between his loyalty to the United States and his love of the Southern states where he was born and raised. As Chamberlain, Jackson, and Lee are followed through the declaration of war and the battles at Manassas, Antietam, Frederickburg, and Chancellorsville, the film also introduces us to the many supporting players in the epic tale of the war between the States, among them the women these men left behind, among them Fanny Chamberlain (Mira Sorvino) and Anna Jackson (Kali Rocha). The sixth movie in the seemingly endless Leprechaun series finds the title character revisiting the territory he menaced in the fifth outing. This time around, a group of inner-city friends go from rags to riches when they stumble upon some treasures. Little do they know that the booty belongs to the terrifying little green man and he wants it back. Decked out in bling-bling and smoking chronically, Leprechaun dispenses with the unsuspecting pals one by one. Warwick Davis once again reprises the title role, which he's assumed throughout the series, and instead of Ice-T, who co-starred in Leprechaun in the Hood, another rapper, Sticky Fingaz of Onyx, is onboard for this blood bath. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Oliver Stone is the executive producer of this political documentary recalling the idealism, struggles, and turmoil of 1968 when two visionary American leaders promised hope but were slain within months of each other. After opening with Robert Kennedy on April 4, 1968 telling people in Indianapolis about Martin Luther King's murder in Memphis, the film looks back on the lives of both during the '60s, through interviews with friends, associates, and family members. When King was killed, a dream for the future was passed to RFK. During a 1967 Mississippi trip, RFK had an emotional reaction to the conditions in which poor black children lived. News footage and photos sketch in the backdrop of the '60s. By the end of 1968, with both men gone, the dream turned to despair. Directed by Jack Bender, Lone Justice 2 centers around the jailed Ned Blessing (Brad Johnson) as he reminisces about his hometown and the skirmishes he had gotten into with the rougher crowd. Ned gets a nasty shock upon his release--not only has the town he remembered so fondly been run down by bandits and racism towards the many black settlers, but his father is missing. Almost immediately, Ned finds himself in a fight with Verlon Borges (Bill McKinney), who, along with his sons, resides over the townspeople with an iron fist. Swearing to end the terror campaign, Ned teams up with a sweet prostitute (Brenda Bake) and hopes for the best. Lone Justice 2 originally aired on CBS.

Just as it looks as if the four misfits are going to have a really great summer together, two dozen of their peers find out about the camp and decide to come along. Made for television, Murder in Mississippi covers the same historical ground that was fictionalized in the theatrical film Mississippi Burning (89). The film recounts the murders by the Ku Klux Klan of three civil rights workers in 1964. Rather than detail the subsequent FBI investigation, the plotline follows the life of one of the white murder victims, Mickey Schwerner (Tom Hulce), who gave up a comfortable lifestyle in the North to struggle alongside African-American freedom fighters in the South. Jennifer Grey portrays Schwerner's wife, while Josh Charles and Blair Underwood portray the other two martyred activists, Andrew Goodman and James Chaney.
