Alison Sweeney Movies
Pretty and vivacious Alison Sweeney evinced an unmistakable onscreen presence in her first ongoing role, as Sami Brady, daughter of Marlena Evans, on the long, long-running daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives. Working with series producers and writers, Sweeney helped evolve the character from a wayward adolescent to a loving and responsible single mom. Sweeney maintained the role for well over a decade and a half (from 1993 onward). Meanwhile, she earned fame and recognition in another arena, taking advantage of the reality television trend that swept 2000s television by appearing on several related series. These included competitive shows -- such as Fear Factor, Celebrity Poker, and The Weakest Link (where Sweeney nearly broke the bank) -- and, more visibly, a hostess assignment in season four of The Biggest Loser, competition between numerous contestants vying to lose the most weight. Sweeney's resumé also includes guest appearances on such series programs as Webster, I Married Dora, Friends, and Las Vegas. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide- Starring:

Now that he is firmly established in his Days of Our Lives role as a man with a transplanted woman's brain, Joey (Matt LeBlanc) has been nominated for the coveted "Soapie" award. But rather than build up his hopes too much (even though he would obviously walk through fire to win), Joey submits to a few lessons in "good losing" from an expert in the field -- Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). And with her marriage to Chandler (Matthew Perry) rapidly approaching, Monica (Courteney Cox) begins to worry that true love will fly out the door when matrimony flies in the window. ~ All Movie Guide

This Magical World of Disney made-for-television movie is another tale of step-kids coming together to form a new, big, happy family. Don Murray and Barbara Eden star as single parents, each with three kids of their own from previous marriages. When Eden and Murray fall in love, the brood comes together under the roof of millionaire Murray's Bel Air Mansion -- and much brouhaha follows when the culture clash between the families becomes evident. This movie was the basis for the hour-long series that followed. ~ Bernadette McCallion, All Movie Guide
