Divorced mom Kathleen Russell (Roma Downey) needs a lot of money in a hurry in order to afford a decent home for herself and her daughter Zoey (Sarah Rosen Fruitman). Meanwhile, Kathleen's boss, swinging bachelor Sam Field (Eric McCormick) must pretend to be happily married, and with children, if he wants to close a major business deal with mysterious Mexican financier Javier Del Campo (Hector Elizondo). At first, it seems as though Kathleen and Sam come up with the notion of posing as man and wife all by themselves; but as this made-for-TV romantic comedy-fantasy progresses, it is clear that two other people are actually pulling the strings--and there's a third character looming in the shadows! In Peter Weir's thriller Witness, Samuel (Lukas Haas), a young Amish boy, witnesses a murder in the restroom of a Philadelphia bus station. Harrison Ford stars as John Book, the police detective investigating the murder. When Book discovers that the crime was part of a conspiracy involving several officials in his department, he flees Philadelphia to the Amish community where Samuel lives with his widowed mother, Rachel (Kelly McGillis). Slowly assimilating himself into the Amish community, Book eventually finds himself falling in love with Rachel in the midst of his investigation. Eventually, the corrupt police track Book down, and he is forced to confront them, while also trying to protect Rachel and Samuel. ~ Matthew Tobey, All Movie Guide

Producer Dan Curtis also sat in the director's seat for The Last Ride of the Dalton Gang. Making no effort to whitewash its hooligan protagonists, the film recounts the wild-west exploits of the outlaw Dalton Brothers: Bob (Cliff Potts), Emmett (Larry Wilcox), Grat (Randy Quaid, who'd probably get better billing these days) and Frank (Don Collier). The story culminates in the Dalton's suicidal raid on Coffeyville, Kansas. Most of what transpires is related in flashback from the vantage point of fifty years afterward by surviving Dalton brother Emmett (hope we're not giving anything away here). The made-for-TV Last Ride of the Dalton Gang lets us know up front that "What follows here is not intended to be an accurate re-creation of fact. Not that it matters."
