An awkward Sunday brunch takes an unexpected turn thanks to the apocalypse in this comedy from writer/director Todd Berger (The Scenesters). Tracy Scott (Julia Stiles) is ready to introduce her new boyfriend Glen (David Cross) to her best pals Hedy (America Ferrera), Emma (Erinn Hayes), and Lexi (Rachel Boston), and what better way to do it than gathering for a laid-back Sunday brunch? As the ladies and their significant others file in, it quickly becomes apparent that the chemistry is a bit off. Just when it seems like the situation couldn't get any more uncomfortable, however, the group learns that a series of dirty bombs have been set off downtown, and that a deadly cloud of VX nerve gas is blowing their way. Now, with their demise seemingly imminent, this bickering bunch must make peace with the fact that the worst party they've ever attended may also be their last. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

A handful of would-be hipsters end up falling into the good and bad sides of the law in this independent comedy from filmmaker Todd Berger. Wallace Cotton (Todd Berger) is an aspiring filmmaker whose latest project has gone bust after financing fell apart; needing money, he gets a job with the Los Angeles Police filming crime scenes. Eager to continue making some sort of movie, Wallace's producer Roger (Jeff Grace) starts working with him on a documentary about a possible serial killer whose crimes he's been following with the police. Charlie (Blaise Miller), who cleans up crime scenes of a living, has noticed that a number of recent murder victims have been attractive blonde women who are habitués of the indie rock scene, and Wallace and Roger think they have a story on their hands about a psycho doing away with hip chicks. However, things get complicated as the filmmakers get mixed up with police detectives, judges, musicians and Jewell (Suzanne May), a television reporter who used to date Charlie. The Scenesters was an official selection at the 2010 Slamdance Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

In this direct-to-video horror outing, Ashley (Siri Baruc) is a troubled teenager who has been given to episodes of suicidal depression thanks to the cruel treatment she receives from her parents. Ashley runs away from home and tracks down her sister, Leslie (Leah Cairns), who runs a dance club on the outskirts of town with a handful of her friends. But Leslie and her pals are not typical club kids -- they've been transformed into "thralls," creatures who are half vampire and half human, by the evil Mr. Jones (Lorenzo Lamas), and the club exists in order to lure in hipsters to provide fresh blood. Frustrated by the fact they don't command the full powers of a vampire, Leslie and her friends have hatched a plot to move Mr. Jones out of the picture and become fully vested bloodsuckers, and when Ashley arrives, they decide to use her as part of their scheme. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Also in the cast is Joan Van Ark as the town's politically ambitious mayor, who insists upon throwing a huge vote-raising party despite impending disaster from the skies. Shot in Winnipeg, Manitoba over a hectic 13-day period, Tornado Warning debuted over the PAX network on September 13, 2002. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The strange life and the wonderfully awful films of 1950's Hollywood Z movie director Ed Wood are profiled in this documentary that was conceived of and researched several years before commercial-filmmaker Tim Burton made his feature film tribute. Actually, Wood does not appear much in this film. Rather, it centers on the lives and thoughts of his entourage and those who knew him. Among those interviewed are Wood's former lover and star of his earliest films, Dolores Fuller, whom he abruptly replaced in the middle of Bride of the Monster with actress Loretta King who is also interviewed. Also interviewed are Maila Nurmi (aka Vampira); Bela Lugosi, Jr., who believes Wood destroyed his troubled father's career; Rev. Dr. Lynn Lemon, the Baptist minister who backed Wood's most famous film Plan 9 from Outer Space in hopes that it would generate enough income to allow Lemon's church to produce religious films; Paul Marco, who played Kelton the Cop in several films, and actors Conrad Brooks and Lyle Talbot. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Though Adventures in Dinosaur City predates We're Back, the two films make good companion pieces. The "live action" characters-a bunch of precocious pre-teens-are zapped back to prehistoric times. We've established that the kids idolize a group of animated TV-series dinosaurs, so guess who they meet in the flesh (so to speak)? In the manner of the "Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm" segments of the various 1980s Flintstones revivals, the kids help the dinosaurs solve Jurassic-era crimes. It's all a great deal of fun, but at 88 minutes it may be a bit too wearing for very small children. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

As an adult in his thirties, he is involved with several women, most of them sexual stereotypes. Actually they are more interested in him than he is in them. As nice as they are, he would rather sit alone in his apartment and talk to his dream girl, a figment of his imagination. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi
