Autumn Reeser Movies
A native of La Jolla, CA, actress Autumn Reeser grew up in nearby Oceanside and Carlsbad and gravitated to drama as a young girl; she reportedly discovered her life's calling when she felt inspired by a child's portrayal of a mouse in a local stage version of Cinderella. Reeser commenced tryouts for local theatrical productions not long after her sixth birthday and continued to appear in a variety of plays and musicals through her late teens, then enrolled in the University of Southern California at the age of 17 and studied acting while supporting herself by waiting tables on the side. The thespian scored her first major acting coup in 2001, with a bit part on an episode of Star Trek: Voyager, then signed for a series of guest roles on programs including Cold Case, George Lopez, and Grounded for Life, in addition to films such as the independent drama Americanese (2006) and the collegiate-themed ensemble film Palo Alto (2007). She only came into her own, however, with a portrayal of backward and maladroit Taylor Townsend on seasons 3 and 4 of the prime-time teen-oriented soaper The O.C. (2005-2007). In 2008, Reeser signed on to play Phoebe Valentine, one of a family of Greek immortals whose collective mission involves bringing human soulmates together, on the Kevin Murphy-produced romantic comedy series Valentine. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide- 2001
En route to a peace conference, the shuttle carrying Chakotay (Robert Beltran) and Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) is damaged, marooning them on a seemingly primitive planet populated by a backward, isolated race called the Ventu. Gary Cole and Shelley Long are back as Mike and Carol Brady, America's favorite squares, with a whole new crop of youngsters cast as the six Brady kids. As a reward for returning a $67,000,000 lottery ticket to its rightful owner, Mike is invited to meet the President at the White House. Through a series of dizzying and absolutely nonsensical plot twists, the proper-and-permed Mr. Brady ends up sworn in as Chief Executive of the United States. In this capacity, Mike and the Brady kids manage to save the government from a devastating scandal, while perky Carol Brady caters State dinners and imposes "time outs" on obstreperous members of the Press. Boy meets girl who's already met all sorts of boys and girls in this teen-slanted comedy. Matthew Kidman (Emile Hirsch) is a straight-laced and highly ambitious high school student who plans to study at Georgetown University and dreams of a career in politics. While most of his classmates are in the throes of an epidemic of senioritis, Matthew is obsessed with schoolwork and has a hard time relaxing and having fun. But he finds himself a bit less focused on his future career when Danielle (Elisha Cuthbert), a beautiful 19-year-old blonde, moves in next door. Danielle is playful, spontaneous, and doesn't always remember to draw her shades, and before long Matthew is head over heels in love. Danielle soon finds herself taken with Matthew as well, but their relationship takes an unusual turn when he discovers that, before she moved to town, Danielle had a successful career as a porn actress. Matthew is able to convince Danielle that she's cut out for better things in life than appearing in porn videos, but his advice doesn't especially please Kelly (Timothy Olyphant) or Hugo (James Remar), two porn moguls who figure Matthew owes them big-time after convincing their leading lady to drop out of the adult industry. The directing debut of actor Cameron Watson, Our Very Own chronicles the daily hopes and dreams of high schoolers and their parents in a small Tennessee town, circa 1978. Shelbyville is the real-life birthplace not only of Watson, who wrote the script from his own recollections, but also of actress Sondra Locke -- or as the townspeople know her, "our very own Sondra Locke." The events take place in the days leading up to the town's annual horse show, where it is rumored Locke will return as a special guest. Melora (Autumn Reeser) has dreams of following Locke's path to stardom from meager beginnings, and hopes to meet the actress to pick her brain/get discovered. Her best friend, Clancy (Jason Ritter), has enough real-world problems to worry about, between falling in love with Melora and watching his parents (Keith Carradine and Allison Janney) fight over their impending bankruptcy and his father's drinking problem. Their friends Ray (Derek Carter) and Bobbie (Hilarie Burton) just want to get a car to find something to do in Nashville, while musical theater aficionado Glen (Michael McKee) begins wondering if he is coming of age differently than his friends. As the town starts to buzz with the excitement of the festival, the characters must face the decisions that will affect their futures. Writer-director Eric Byler adapted his ensemble comedy-drama Americanese from Shawn Wong's bestselling 1995 roman American Knees. The film, like the novel, dramatizes the seriocomic, day-to-day experiences of a number of Asian American immigrants in the City of Angels. At the story's center is milquetoast-dull, middle-aged college professor and divorcé Raymond Ding (Chris Tashima) - so ineffectual that he barely seems to have control over the events that befall him, and so emotionally distant in his relationship with live-in lover, the Japanese-American photojournalist Aurora (Allison Sie), that his inaccessibility destroys their union. Forced to move out of their house, Raymond instead rooms with his aging father, Wood (Sab Shimono), making periodic, unannounced visits back to Aurora's home when she is absent. While Aurora kindles her own romance with American Steve (Ben Shenkman), Raymond moves into his own apartment and takes up with Vietnamese-American Betty (Joan Chen) - a university associate plagued by deep-seated emotional and mental problems.
