Making the fateful decision to dedicate her life to acting at the tender age of eight, young Katie Stuart began the long climb from her earliest performances with the Vancouver Youth Theater to appearing in such big-budget Hollywood fare as X2. Born in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 22, 1985, it was in the third grade that Stuart became involved with the Vancouver Youth Theater. Subsequently receiving early coaching at Vancouver's Tarlington Training center, Stuart soon had an agent and began to gain experience in addition to her training. Early roles in such television series' as Poltergeist: The Legacy were soon to follow, and with her role in 1997's Masterminds, Stuart kicked off a career in features. Though Stuart would gain positive notice for her role in the 1996 miniseries Intensity, it was the following year that found the burgeoning actress experiencing breakout success in the wake of Canadian television's Summer of the Monkeys. Following up with appearances in the series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven and Stargate SG-1, Stuart next appeared in the BBC's The Magician's House (1999) and its sequel before taking on a challenging role as a pregnant teen in the made-for-television feature Too Young to Be a Dad. Her role as Shadowcat in X2 hinting at positive things to come, Stuart could next be found preparing for her role in the television adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time in 2003. Following A Wrinkle in Time, Stuart would to put her acting career on hold in favor of graduating from high school and continuing her education. A pair of misfit siblings travel across time and space to save their father from enslavement in this made-for-TV adaptation of the classic children's novel by Madeleine L'Engle. Afflicted by hubris and naïveté, young Charles Wallace falls under IT's thrall, forcing Meg, Calvin, and their allies on a dangerous flight across time and space. One day, Ozzie's younger sister Melissa (Katie Stuart) talks him into giving her a lift to Shady Glen, where she still attends; looking for a little revenge, he sneaks into the school and intends to have a little fun with their computer system. As it turns out, Ozzie runs afoul of the school's new security chief, former British Secret Service agent Rafe Bentley (Patrick Stewart), who was hired by Principal Maloney (Brenda Fricker) after Ozzie's most recent bit of computer terrorism. But Bentley is not the friend of the law that he seems to be; several of the wealthiest families in America send their children to Shady Glen, and Bentley has a scheme to kidnap ten of the school's richest children and hold them for a ransom of $650 million. The SG-1 team heads to Nasya, there to rescue survivors of the recent Goa'uld attack. In the course of this mission, the body of team member Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is taken over by a Goa'uld--and the only one who realizes that this has happened is another former Goa'uld "host", a little girl named Cassandra (Katie Stuart, repeating her role from the first-season episode "Singularity"). But things are not as dark as they seem: Carter's possessor turns out to be Jolinar of Malkshur, who claims to head a resistance movement against the Goa'uld System Lords. In this made-for-cable action-drama, Oliver Sloan (Parker Stevenson) is the son of a Las Vegas resort magnate whose showplace hotel has just been given its grand re-opening. However, Sloan's board of directors is not happy with the hotel's profitability, and he knows he's about to be replaced. One evening, a fire breaks out on the 20th floor of the hotel; it soon becomes evident that the sprinkler systems in the hotel are not working, and Sloan begins to suspect that the fire did not happen by accident. Meanwhile, a number of guests are trapped as the fire rages out of control, including Jim (Meat Loaf), an engineer working for the hotel who tries to figure out a route to safety for himself and the guests, and Evans (William McNamara), a TV reporter who begins broadcasting live from the burning building.
