I never read the book, so I guess I was able to enjoy this movie without criticizing it. I thought this movie told a great story of true friendship, survival and endurance. Pierce Bronsan played his part so well. What a great movie.

What can be said but butchery. It's a below average attempt at a great novel. Butchery is a word that comes to mind. Condensing such a long story into a single movie, obviously you lose something. But this movie cut out entire plots, changed others to the point this has nothing to do with the book beyond his name really. Should just called it some other stranded title, just not officialy Crusoe, for poor author turn in this grave at this attempt.

Standing by itself, this movie is a good story. If you are looking for an accurate version of the incredible novel, this is not it. The only accuracy is Friday's name and the fact that they are on an island.
