If you're entertained and engaged by carefully sculpted dialogue delivered well by two fine actors, then this is a small gem for you. If you're action-oriented then best to skip this one. Lena Olin and Wilem Defoe deliver solid performances in this piece as the Lady and the Writer who spend a night at her estate discussing their love lives and, in the course of so doing, explore what relationships mean to men and how differently they can be interpreted by women. A rewarding film, beautifully written but, again, not for anyone seeking sweeping drama, action or spectacle.

Nothing exciting here. I actually fast forwarded through parts. Kind of "blah". The female character was supposed to be "playing hard to get" I suppose, but I just felt like she was being stupid. And William Defoe's character was well played, but I guess I just didn't like the story...
