Intelligent, thoughtful true story of 6 men convicted for a bombing in Ireland they had nothing to do with, and how journalists finally got the case re-opened. Like a low budget "All the Presidents Men", the focus is not on the imprisoned, nor the real culprits, but on the uphill climb journalists face putting together the facts, with police, politicians and the courts standing in their way. The recreations felt a bit theatrical, the acting a bit self-conscious, the bad guys a bit mustache twirling. And John Hurt as the main investigator is a bit one note. Not the fault of this very fine actor, but seemingly the script, which has a few too many scenes of Hurt in a room with someone, pressing them for details in a similar way. But carping aside, this is a solid film about what can happen when police and politics decide its more more important to convict someone, then to convict the right one.
