Member Rating:
Count Dracula is a three-part British television adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel. Part One takes place in Transylvania, with British attorney Jonathan Harker (Bosco Hogan) arriving at Dracula's castle to close a real estate deal--and to nearly lose his life and soul to his sinister host. Part Two finds Dracula at large in England, beckoning the unfortunate Lucy (Susan Penhaligon) into the world of the Undead. The story grows more intense in Part Three, with vampire hunter Professor Van Helsing (Frank Finlay) rallying the forces of Good against the elusive Dracula. Count Dracula was first telecast in the US on PBS' Great Performances series in March of 1978. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

So very boring. I could only get through 30 minutes. Don't bother.

I originally saw this on PBS in the late 1970's and have yet to watch a Dracula film that was as good as this. The BBC did Dracula right! Read the book and then watch this. You'll see what I mean. This is the way Bram Stoker meant the story to be told. The atmosphere and the eerie sets will plunge you directly into the period. Do yourself a favor and pass up on the other lousy Dracula movies loaded with typical Hollywood buffoonery and watch this one. You'll never want to watch another version of this famous Gothic tale. Very finely directed and acted. Louis Jordon is exceptional in the title roll.

the movie was pretty good, Jordan did a nice job as the Count.....my one complaint is that each time I viewed the movie I was forced to sit through the BBC hawking other DVDs I couldn't get to the main menu or even fast forward through it
