Grieving over the death of their son, a married couple decide to take a long yachting trip for relaxation's sake. Their journey takes a dark turn, however, when they rescue a young man from a drifting vessel. Not bad, actually. Nicole Kidman does a nice job here - mixed in with some STEAMY semi-nude scenes ! Pretty decent script - and Billy Zane plays a very good psychotic in this movie. The ending is a bit unbelievable...but still pretty entertaining. Talk about a case of heartburn ! Yikes !! Definitely worth a rent !

Did you guys see the same movie I did?? I think it's one of the best movies of it's kind. I saw it TV before I'd ever heard of Nicole Kidman and thought it was excellent. There was no nudity of course, guess I'll have to rent it and see if the deleted scenes somehow improved the movie that much. Maybe I'm must a Nicole Kidman nut ... no wait, I couldn't even finish "To die for", "Bewitched", or "The stepford wives" so I guess it's not that.

I thought the actors did a fine job dealing with a rather unrealistic premise. I enjoyed watching Kidman handle a boat because she is so often typecasted as prissy and devoid of any practical skill. The pace of the film is intentionally slow at first but maintains its suspense once kick-started. Silence is a virtue indeed as the musical score is atrocious, annoying and unnecessary. And the ending is simply ridiculous . This thriller turns into a major league comedy of errors because it cannot leave things well enough alone. Stop watching when you first think its over. Enough is definitely enough. Despite all my criticism, the acting redeems the film and still makes it worth watching.
