One of the best westerns I have seen. My father worked for the theaters during the 40's and we watched all the movies free. None of the modern movies have a good story with good acting. Except for Clint Eastwood, there are no modern actors on a peer with Alan Ladd, James Stewart, Glen Ford and even Jack Elam ( who most people only recognize by his face but don't even know his name). I Thourougly enjoyed your collection of old movies. They are far superior to movies made today.

I saw this movie as a kid and, for some reason, the way Alan Ladd presented himself and his character was stunning. Talk about "speaking softly and carrying a big stick!" He had a profound screen presence and unlike other major Western movie stars of the era, he was a small man barely standing 5'6'', and a strong wind could've blown him away. I agree with Terrell T. with respect to your collection of old movies. They are superb.

Alan Ladd's first starring Western, filmed in color. When I first saw this I was amazed how much Ladd played this role similar to the Shane he did several years later. I woulld't be surprised that George Stevens saw this when he cast Ladd as Shane. Even the lead woman has the same name"Marion". Great action and great filming, color is really superb on this movie. You will be pleasantly surprised.
