Strange Conquest (1946)
This drama is set within a steamy tropical jungle and chronicles the rivalry between two doctors looking for the cure to a deadly fever. One of the doctors gets frustrated by his repeated failure and so allows the other to try his latest cure out on him. Unfortunately, the "cure" kills the doctor.
