This lighthearted comedy-drama was directed, surprisingly enough, by early screen villain Gustav von Seyffertitz. Princess Jones (Alice Calhoun) lives up to the lofty name her mother has given her by having big dreams of leaving her home in Cobweb Corners and somehow becoming a real princess. While working at her uncle's general store, she meets Arthur Forbes (Vincent Coleman), whose wealthy uncle has sent him to the country to pursue art. They strike up a friendship and since Princess is planing a vacation at a nearby beach resort, she asks Forbes to buy her a dress when he goes back to the city. She gives him her savings of 17 dollars and 50 cents, but Forbes, who has fallen for her, buys her one for 200 dollars. Princess, completely unaware of the gown's cost, heads for the resort where she is mistaken for a real Balkan princess who is due to arrive. When the real princess shows up to expose the impostor, the two girls wind up being friends. Forbes' uncle, meanwhile, thinks his nephew is being vamped and heads for the resort himself, only to be charmed by Princess, too. A group of agents from the Balkans kidnap Princess instead of the real princess, and Forbes comes to her rescue. They are united. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
