The Little Angel of Canyon Creek (1914)

The Little Angel of Canyon Creek (1914)
Juvenile actress Gertrude Short, later the pleasingly plump star of a series of "telephone girl" 2-reelers of the 1930s, plays the title character in Little Angel of Canyon Creek. The story revolves around an orphan girl (Short) who is stranded in a rough-and-tumble mining town. Exuding cuteness from every pore, the little moppet manages to reform the worst galoots in the community. It all takes place in about an hour, which was okay so far as the child-haters in the movie crowd were concerned. Little Angel of Canyon Creek bears more than a passing resemblance to Zane Grey's The Luck of Roaring Camp. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi
