Her Final Reckoning (1918)
Her Final Reckoning offered Pauline Frederick in the "dual role" of newlywed Princess Zilah and low-born gypsy girl Marsa. Actually, Marsa and the Princess are one in the same, and when her husband Prince Zilah (John Miltern) learns about her unsavory past -- including a forced sexual relationship with a debauched nobleman -- he walks out on her. Hoping to make amends, Marsa/Zilah offers to enter a convent and do penance for her sins. The basic plot dilemma is resolved when the Prince's best friend kills Marsa's seducer in a duel.
