NOVA: Building the Great Cathedrals (2010)
Member Rating:
This installment of NOVA examines how the great medieval cathedrals were built. The architectural marvels, made from stone and by hand, often required the labor of entire towns, and some took 100 years to finish. Many, however, now may collapse. Here, architects, engineers, computer scientists and art historians investigate the secrets used to build them in order to save them, including how the soaring, glass-filled walls where erected. ~ Jeff Gemmill, Rovi

Subject was good. Treatment of subject was kind of shallow. Like a lot of Nova programs it seems to focus more on the people involved in the investigation rather than the technical details. The personal background and watching people at their desk working or walking around is waste of time. Hit me with the facts. I don't need to know very much about the people doing the research.

Fascinating!. Some of the most remarkable architecture in the world. A must rent for anyone who appreciates gothic architecture and how these amazing structures were built. Cinematography captures some of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world. Ted DeCagna, Cranford, NJ

I enjoyed this but it wasn't quite what I expected. I wanted more tales of things that happened while cathedrals were being built.
