Twenty years after a mysterious outbreak claimed the lives of everyone at the Advanced Parasitic Development at the Cuttyhunk Island Research Facility as well as most of the civilian population on the island, a woman who managed to narrowly escape infection discovers that the bug is much more resilient than scientists previously gave it credit for when she returns home to sell her parent's abandoned property. Now the parasites have evolved, and they can slip into any human orifice impossibly fast. If they manage to find a human host to carry them out of the danger zone, there's no telling how long it would take before the infection starts to spread all across the planet. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Writer/director Cowan should go back to writer's school before he writes another script like this one. There were too many: "why would he do such a thing" moments in the film to count, but the most glaring stupid premise was that you had an island full of crawling worms infecting the inhabitans but they died as soon as they came in contact with salt water, wouldn't the first self preservation reaction would be to get the hell out of the island? Since they all were idiots i guess they all deserved to die.

This is no "Slither" or John Carpenter's, re-make of "The Thing" the CGI creature FX is too dependent on CGI. Acting is very weak and the script is hackneyed and strictly by the numbers. I found myself rooting for the parasites and not the stupid humans being terrorized by them. Warning: the ending will have you throwing your popcorn at the screen! My Grade: D- (Marc L. Seattle, WA)
