Seven years ago SciFi Channel tried to start a series based on Riverworld, it didn't work out to good. This time they went the way of a miniseries and (in my opinion) surpassed their first attempt. If you like scifi fantasy then add Riverworld to your Q.

Definately a made for TV movie, saw it on syfy, it's four hours of pure drivel, watched about half of it, then took a nap for the rest of it, really not worth renting.

I watched it on Sci Fi channel and it was just OK. A fill for middle school kids when they have absolutely nothing to do. Don't expect to be riveted to the screen. Plan on many stops to the kitchen during the really slow stuff. A science fiction minor escape. Too slow for me, and I too turned it off in several boring parts.
