Mild recapitulation of Eastwood movies with a few of his thoughts thrown-in here and there. Not much on the man outside of the studio, essentially none. Still, probably worth a watch, if only to make a note of some lesser known films perhaps missed. I saw the Extended Version and have no idea what some reviewers are talking about having to do with the Superbowl and The Saints. There were no "extra materials" or features on the Extended Version. The Eastwood Scoring Stage at WB was brief but interesting. In the end, one concludes, what a great life this individual has had, beginning first with matinee looks (and the women they attract, not mentioned in this doc), some lucky opportunites of which he made more than merely "the most," and then reinventing and/or leveraging his star into some occasionally worthy acting and directing projects. Steve Kroft's "60-Minutes" pieces on Eastwood were better than this though ... much.

I was attracted to this DVD just to re-review Clint Eastwood's movie and directing career. For that I was not disappointed and learned some interesting things about his approach to directing. And as documentaries go, this is a good DVD. Somehow, though I expected more but not sure what that would have been to improve the rating. -- MovieGuyinOhio

Disappointing and rather shallow. No real insight into Eastwood. A wasted opportunity.
