Writer/director Rodrigo García (Nine Lives) teams with executive producer Alejandro González Iñárritu to craft this drama highlighting the powerful bond between mothers and daughters. It's been years since Karen (Annette Bening) gave her daughter, Elizabeth, up for adoption, and the decision to abandon her child has always haunted her. Upon meeting laid-back Paco (Jimmy Smits), Karen permits her anxiety and mistrust to get the best of her.     an excellent movie that mirrors the human condition. Love,hope,despair,betrayal,reconciliation,forgiveness and on&on. Superb acting by everyone in the movie. I Highly recommend this movie, it will sadden you, but also lift your spirits. Do not miss this one....

    Awesome !! I Love Annette Bening ,and the cast for this movie was excellent It was so beautiful and heartbreaking all at the same time .. you really feel for everyone involved in this story ..its a great Movie !I wish they could keep making movies like this.. with a wonderful cast and story line !

    Okay, this is Rodrigo García at his best, and that's a fine place to be. He's writer director on some of the most moving films (Nine Lives) and television series (The Treatment). This film deepens your sense of humanity and earns your empathy for a wide variety of characters. His fundamental respect for people is somehow conveyed on film. I remember feeling enlarged by this film and disappointed that so much of our film making is shallow. It's riveting without being violent. Where else can you find that? Highly recommended.
