If you've seen any of Park Chan-wook's other movies, you'll notice a common theme - high production values, wry, but very funny humor and dark, but not scary subject matter. However implausible as the premise seems, the story is about a priest who volunteers for a medical experiment that could lead to the cure for a deadly disease that has already killed 499 volunteers. While the priest is the first to survive the experiment, he starts to realize that he's acquired vampire like qualities. The acting, directing, writing, cinematography, special effects and sound were excellent. The one notable negative for this movie was its length. At 2 hours and 14 minutes long, the movie was a bit long in the tooth (pun intended). The 5.1 audio option made good, but infrequent use of surround sound. There are no movie related extras. Definitely recommended.

I was reminded of "Let the Right One In", the swedish vampire movie that was VERY odd and featured more graphic deaths than I was comfortable with. Was mezmerized by the Lead Actor, who was a Korean John Lennon in appearance. Interesting to see how Korean people live in their own homes. Summary: this made me uncomfortable.

This was a weird movie. Certainly not what I expected. Things kinda went downhill after the medical experiement. It seemed to deviate from the point and I had a hard time figuring out what the director was actually trying to do with everything. There were some really weird character placements throughout the movie that had me scratching my head. Overall, I've seen better!
