British humor at its finest shines throughout this warm hearted and intelligent coming-of-age movie. It is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time.

Beside Susan, what movie are the others watching?IMO 37yrs ago is the period this plot is set in and seems true to the customs/culture at that time and place.Serious yet comical at times this cast and plot shows what was important to them for living/surviving. Corporate/Family drama is exploited, some action and romance and even the racist remarks were mild and more humorous considering ,makes this a must see IF you like British movies, and humor.

Fantastic! Love Ricky Gervais. I had never heard of this movie coming out in theatre so I was puzzled to see it available in DVD. I watched it with the idea it was probably not very good but I was surprised at how great it was. I would recommend this to anyone who is a Ricky Gervais fan or just appreciates British humor. Excellent film.
