I was actually enjoying the series except for the main character, Helen Magnus. By the time they killed off her daughter I had my fill of her. Her arrogance, self-righteousness, and general cockiness just became too much. She has a bad habit of walking away from a conversation when it's not going her way and every time she related some incident in her century old past where she was with some famous person she would come off as lofty, as if that kind of thing is just old hat. There's no way I (or any other character for that matter) could ever relate to a person like that .
The whole premise that we're evolving and that it's a basically Godless world ("I don't believe in miracles." - Helen Magnus) also became a bit hard to swallow.
Still a very good series, but season 2 seems to jump the track a bit. Killing off Magnus' daughter was pointless, other than making room for the hot Indian chick, who is not as interesting of a character. Not so crazy about the attempts to use the "comic book panels" interspersed in episodes. Nice try at creative cinematography, but it unfortunately fails. Still very enjoyable and worth continuing! SPOILER: Robin Dunne dancing a Bollywood number MUST be seen!!!
