This movie has a few positives but they aren't enough to save a completely predictable story and marginal dialog and acting by the American leads. I've been to the interior of Thailand and the movie does capture both the beauty and a sense of the people there. I also enjoyed the character of the German ex-pat - humorous, crass, and sometimes soulful. But this is a movie that I'd only recommend if you've seen everything else on your wish list first.

I rarely stop watching a movie once I start it. This was an exception. Simply horrible. Poor Script, acting was forced, plot was weak, etc. This movie looked like something a high school drama class would make. Sorry to insult high school drama classes. Definitely a movie to avoid!!

Outside of the great scenery this movie was a waste of time, the acting was poor and how did James Brolin get roped into doing this part what a waste of talent. The story was stupid and so predictable it was pathetic.
