I loved this show at the time, and it is holding up well. The DVD is visually dark, possibly because of its age. However, the excellent writing and acting makes it so interesting I enjoyed it very much.

Reilly Ace of Spies is entertaining, but has a lightweight treatment of the many facets of the plot. It is very entertaining, more than what can be found on regular TV these days. All of the characters had a British accent, even the Russian characters. This is worth watching and hearing; the music at the beginning of each episode evokes a feeling of the era of the story.

I've always Loved Sam Neil's work but this early bit from his career I think is is best. A thinking man's James Bond. It also Teaches much about early 20th Century History that most will never Know about. Great Acting, Great Costumes, Great all around. Must see and I've NEVER said that before about a series.
