We just rented this movie and loved it. My daughter (age 9) is now begging to read the Mandie books. It is very family friendly and a good adventure story.

This was a wonderful family movie. Our four girls were all able to watch it from age 9 down to 2. We were a little concerned about the "running away" part before we viewed it. We are pretty careful about rebellion against authority kinds of things. We did not have a problem with the running away because of the way it was handled in the movie. She was really running TO a real relative, rather then just running away. It was delightful and we would definitely watch it again.
