Oldboy (2010)
Member Rating:
Steven Spielberg and Will Smith team up for a remake of Park Chan-wook's revenge-soaked masterpiece Oldboy with this DreamWorks production. The 2004 original told the tale of a man's disturbing path of vengeance after being mysteriously imprisoned for 15 years. I Am Legend's Mark Protosevich provides the script, which will apparently draw more inspiration from the original manga rather than the Korean cult film. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, All Movie Guide

Oldboy dosnt need a remake. Especially a flashy, commercial, hollywood, Spielburg/Smith remake. Nothing against either one of those guys (love them both) but the original Oldboy is so amazing how it is and should be left alone. I have a feeling it will turn out like The Vanishing. The "Americanized" remake will be completely changed to please either American audiences or possibly the MPAA. I hope they prove me wrong but as of now, Spielberg has lost a bit of respect from me.
