Courage and the power of positive thinking serve as the primary themes of this documentary tracing the stories of a Buddhist Nun and a Buddhist Monk who summoned the courage to lead freedom demonstrations against Chinese repression in Tibet. Arrested, imprisoned, and brutally tortured for their outspoken efforts to free Tibet, Buddhist Nun Ngwang and Buddhist Monk Bagdro suffered years of abuse until a global movement launched by Amnesty International and the International Campaign for Tibet convinced the Chinese government to let them free. In the aftermath of their nightmarish experience, Ngwang and Bagdro drew on the philosophies of the Dali Lama in order to conquer their fear and forgive their enemies. Featuring narration by actor Richard Gere. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
